The fifth-generation mobile network (5G) promises to be unlike any network upgrade ever seen before. Over the years, the network evolution has progressed from simple voice conveyance in the 1980s to include digital in the 1990s, when text and picture messages arrived. By the third generation, video calling and mobile data entered the scene, but it was not until 4G that the networks became capable of supporting mobile Internet, with speeds high enough for video streaming. With 5G, the networks could become up to ten times more efficient.
