Growing interest in natural gas derivatives for transport sector

Researchers at MIT believe natural-gas derived fuels offer greater long-term promise as a transport fuel.

Natural gas is gaining traction as a transport fuel in the US in the forms of CNG (compressed natural gas) and LNG (liquified natural gas) for commercial trucking operators. It offers both economic and environmental benefits, and the US government has been keen to support it as a means of reducing reliance on foreign oil.
