French at the vanguard of Iranian return

The French links to Iran run deep, and both PSA and Renault are moving quickly to renew them. By Megan Lampinen

The news that sanctions on Iran would be lifted has resulted in a flurry of interest from the automotive industry. Daimler kicked off with confirmation that it was plotting a course for return, and the French OEMs are hot on its heels. In the same day, PSA Peugeot Citroen confirmed plans to resume operations, and Renault announced its serious interest in returning to the market. The announcements coincide with a visit by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Paris.
