Ford positions, cautiously, for African growth

Ford is preparing for an increase in sales, but not capacity, in North Africa

Ford is clearly feeling the lure of the African continent, but tempering that enthusiasm for the market's potential is a strong sense of caution. One of the early signs of its interest in the region came with the establishment of the Middle East & Africa business unit on 1 January 2014. This marked the OEM’s fifth global business unit and covers 47 regional markets. Ford then said it planned to launch 25 new vehicles in the region, including 17 in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, by 2016
