At the end of 2009, Fiat Chrysler Automobile’s (FCA) North American plants built just under one million units. The 2015 figure was almost triple that, at around 2.8 million units. This has put pressure on the facilities feeding into the manufacturing chain, such as the OEM’s stamping plant in Sterling, Michigan, which within the last five years has doubled its output.
