Europe’s OEMs and suppliers underline support for TTIP

ACEA and CLEPA voice their support for continued negotiations on TTIP, the likely free trade agreement between the EU and US

It’s not a new issue, but it is one that is enjoying growing support from those with political, business and industrial weight. For several years, the heads of the leading global truck manufacturers have been calling for global, not regional co-operation across the industry, and between industry and regulators, in order to achieve regulatory recognition and ultimately harmonisation, on safety and emissions in particular. In November 2014, the world’s leading truck manufacturers returned to Tokyo for the latest Global Commercial Vehicle Meeting, where they called for further promotion and co-operation of regulatory harmonisation for fuel efficiency improvements and reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.
