Europe’s car market running above expectations

New car sales are growing faster than predicted, with positive implications for capacity utilization of European plants as well as the pricing environment

Europe's recovery showed no signs of slowing down in February, despite conservative forecasts for the year. Passenger car sales across the EU rose 7.3% year-on-year to 924,440 units, according to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). This marks the 18th consecutive month of growth for the region and puts year-to-date sales up 7% at 1.924 million units.
