COMMENT: Plants in Brazil, Chinese (d)alliances – interesting times for European OEMs

BY IAN HENRY. For much of 2013, European vehicle sales fell, with the expectation that production would also fall. However, exports to China and North America, and a buoyant UK market, have sustained European production. For the premium brands especially, 2013 production has been better than expected, and much of Europe’s 2012 production decline should have been recovered by the end of 2013.
