Delivery trucks using refrigeration systems to keep goods chilled have two engines – one to power the vehicle itself, and one to provide a cold storage space inside. Research by Dearman, a leading developer of clean cold technology, suggests that the secondary diesel engines used in these trucks can emit up to 29 times more particulate matter than Euro VI diesel engines.
