China’s CV segment braces for diesel development acceleration

The future prospects for diesel vehicles has come under question over recent years. Numerous studies have found that some models emit far more nitrogen oxide (NOx) than legal limits allow, which can have severe implications on human health. Furthermore, some experts have suggested that diesel sales have declined as a result of the Volkswagen diesel emissions scandal.

However, expectations for diesel in the commercial vehicle (CV) segment are positive. In China, heavy-duty vehicle (HDV) sales are set to recover in 2016 before rising to over 1.6 million units. Some companies are looking to take advantage of this growth by bringing new products to market.
