Caution prevails as China’s regained momentum continues

New vehicle sales rose more than 7% year-on-year in January but are no guarantee of sustained strength, writes Megan Lampinen

China's regained momentum continued into 2016 with a 7.72% rise in January new vehicle sales to 2.5 million units. A 9% rise in passenger car sales to 2.22 million units countered a 3.46% drop in commercial vehicle sales to 271,900 units, according to figures from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
