Canada finally sees job creation in auto sector

Ford's plans to add more than 1,000 new jobs at its Oakville assembly plant will help boost Canada's flagging automotive manufacturing sector.

Over the past few years, automotive manufacturing investment in Canada has dried up significantly. Most of the investment that may have come to Canada has gone to Mexico and the US instead. With automotive output in the country dropping by 3.6% year-on-year in 2013, Mexico is set to overtake Canada with regard to vehicle exports to the US.
