BYD’s 18-month sales run ends with 5.5% September drop

BYD may need to lean harder on its overseas growth if difficulties persist in its native market. By Stewart Burnett

BYD’s long growth streak ended in September as the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) giant reported its first monthly sales decline in more than 18 months. Deliveries fell 5.5% year on year to about 396,000 vehicles, while the company cut its full-year sales goal from 5.5 million to 4.6 million units.
