BMW and Qualcomm unveil automated driving system

Snapdragon Ride Pilot appears to be targeting SAE Level 2 functionality at present, and will debut in the upcoming iX3. By Stewart Burnett

BMW and Qualcomm have officially launched Snapdragon Ride Pilot, an automated driving system set to debut in the upcoming BMW iX3 electric vehicle. The technology is scalable from SAE Levels 1 all the way through (theoretically) 5, and has already been validated for use in more than 60 countries, with expansion to over 100 countries planned for 2026.
