Best practices launched to cover ‘diverse’ cyber security challenges

A comprehensive overview of how to best secure new vehicles against cyber hacking has been launched in the US, writes Freddie Holmes

The Automotive Information Sharing and Analysis Center (Auto ISAC) recently released a set of cyber security best practices for connected vehicles.

The automotive industry has been campaigning for such a document as it fights to protect drivers from cyber hacks, similar to those seen with laptop computers and banks. The risk of hacking for drivers is significant, as not only financial loss is at stake, but also the safety of consumers.
