Automotive World‘s Megatrends India 2014 took place on 25 and 26 February 2014 in Chennai.
Over 350 delegates attended the event, which consisted of a commercial vehicle conference on day one, and a light vehicle conference on day two.
Day 1 of the conference opened with a Big Picture panel discussion featuring leading figures from India’s top truck manufacturers, who will discuss the outlook for India’s commercial vehicle market over the next ten years and beyond. The panel was made up of Ravi Pisharody, President, Commercial Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors; Marc Llistosella, Chief Executive and Managing Director, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles; Anders Grundströmer, Managing Director, Scania Commercial Vehicles India and Senior Vice President, Scania Group and A. Ramasubramanian, President, AMW Motors.

The panel discussion was followed by three sessions of presentations covering a broad range of topics, from powertrain efficiency to supplier management via sustainability.
Day 2 of the conference focused on passenger car and light vehicles, with key industry stakeholders presenting on topics including current and future powertrain developments, electronics and safety, and on the outlook for vehicle production and sales.
