It's official - Renault and Caterham Group are going their separate ways on sports car development. The partners first announced plans for the Société des Automobiles Alpine Caterham (SAAC) joint venture two years ago, at which time they envisioned sharing resources on the design, development and production of future sports models. The arrangement was to have expanded the line-ups of both manufacturers, and each planned to launch its own vehicle within three to four years.
