‘All electric’: one small step for Volvo, but one giant leap for the auto industry

Automaker strategies away from pure internal combustion engines (ICE) have been gaining momentum over the last couple years, with hefty investment plans for electrification now in place across most major players. From mild-hybrid 48-volt systems to all-electric performance cars, the automotive industry has promised a range of exciting, eco-friendly options. Momentum is driven in part by tightening emissions regulations and growing air-quality concerns, but it's also a case of keeping up with the competition.
