Automotive components manufacturer Visteon has opened an innovation and design centre in Pune, India. This is its first such centre in the country.
This centre will focus on creating ideas, developing concepts and commercialising innovative, market-driven products across the supplier’s portfolio. The innovation and design centre is located within the Visteon Engineering Center.
“Visteon’s Innovation and Design Center provides a creative atmosphere for cross-functional teams to work with customers,” said Subu Nagasubramony, Visteon’s Managing Director, India operations.
The centre houses programme managers, engineers, industrial designers, human-machine interaction (HMI) experts and market researchers. The company has four manufacturing plants in the country, three engineering centres, and a joint venture.
Visteon’s Global Director, innovation and design, Tim Yerdon believes that opening a design studio is a significant step in fostering and expanding relationships with the company’s key customers in India.
“This new studio integrates the best practices of the existing network of Visteon innovation and design centres in Germany, the US and China, while incorporating our knowledge of the India market,” Yerdon said.
Visteon designs, engineers and manufactures climate, electronics and interior products for vehicle manufacturers.
