Bridgestone’s subsidiary in Hungary, Bridgestone Tatabánya Termelö Kft (Tatabánya Plant), has decided to raise production capacity of its passenger car radial tyres (PSR).

The plant, located at the suburb of Tatabánya, Hungary, has production capacity of around 6,000 tyres per day. The Hungarian unit is fully owned by Bridgestone Europe (BSEU), which is in turn fully owned by Bridgestone Corporation.

The current capacity expansion will be carried out at a cost of around €267m (US$347.03m). This expansion is scheduled to be completed in the first half of 2017.

This move will increase the Tatabánya Plant’s capacity by around 12,000 tyres per day. Consequently, the plant’s output will increase to approximately 18,000 tyres per day.
