Audi AG has announced the opening of a high-voltage battery competence centre in Gaimersheim, near Ingolstadt, intended to vertically integrate battery supply for the forthcoming e-tron range. Working with Panasonic (to supply cells) and other companies, Audi has so far hired around 100 electronics engineers for the 37,700 square-foot facility.
