China-based manufacturer of batteries and cars, BYD, will reportedly acquire a plant from Japanese metal die manufacturer Ogihara Corp. This move is aimed at giving BYD a competitive edge in automotive manufacturing, especially by narrowing the technical gap between it and Japanese/Western competitors.
