US auto: is a buoyant Q3 leading to an affordability crisis?

While US policy changes have stimulated a sales boost in Q3, they might prove detrimental in the future. By Will Girling

During Cox Automotive’s mid-year US industry review, the company noted that tariffs had not led to “catastrophic” consequences, though there was still scope for downturn in the near future. Its Q3 report, broadcast on 25 September 2025, emphasised that disaster still hasn’t struck.
