Tesla has launched a ride-hailing service in San Francisco's Bay Area, Chief Executive Elon Musk announced on 31 July, but the rollout has fallen noticeably short of the autonomous robotaxi vision he had promised in a recent earnings call. Lifts ordered via the service will operate with a human driver present and Full Self-Driving enabled.
