GM invests US$4bn in US ICE production despite EV goals 

GM’s Michigan plant received US$480m to build EVs, but will instead produce ICE Escalades and pickups. By Stewart Burnett

General Motors has outlined US$4bn investment plans aiming to expand production of internal combustion engine pickup trucks and SUVs at three US facilities. Among the plans: moving the Cadillac Escalade from Arlington, Texas to Orion Township, Michigan, while adding Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup capacity at the same site.
