At least six Chinese cities have suspended car trade-in subsidies in June due to funding shortfalls and ongoing widespread fraud regarding “zero-mileage used cars”. Cities including Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Shenyang and Chongqing all halted programmes offering up to CN¥20,000 (US$2,800) toward new vehicle purchases.
