Takata recall volumes far outpace awareness levels

A recent study found that the Takata airbag recall has the lowest general awareness among current events and issues, writes Megan Lampinen

The number of vehicles recalled for faulty Takata airbags continues to grow, but customer awareness levels are far from acceptable. According to figures from Kelley Blue Book, the number of vehicles in the US alone that have been recalled for Takata airbag problems tops 32 million. This means the issue has impacted more vehicles than the next five largest recalls from the past 20 years combined.
