FCA México today reported sales of 7,254 units.
“During May, we saw strong sales in key segments where our vehicles are having great acceptance, like our Ram 700, which continues as the top leader of its segment, and Dodge Vision and Dodge Attitude, which reported sales records,” said Bruno Cattori, President and CEO, FCA Mexico. “Last month, we celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the iconic Jeep® brand with the biggest event ever made in Mexico, Camp Jeep. More than 500 Jeep vehicles participated in different activities, where our clients saw all the benefits that our brand offers. Jeep is known for its great off-road capability, versatility and handling, all of these attributes have made the brand one of the most recognized 4×4 vehicle brands around the world.”
Alfa Romeo
Alfa Romeo brand recorded its best sales month ever with 33 units, up 38 percent versus May 2015, on the strength of Alfa Romeo Mito, Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Alfa Romeo 4C.
Chrysler
Chrysler brand continued its positive sales trend with 162 units sold in May 2016.
Dodge
Dodge brand registered sales of 2,435 units, a gain of 21 percent in May 2016 compared to the same month last year. Dodge Attitude established a new May sales record by posting sales of 1,503 units, an increase of 80 percent over May 2015. Dodge Vision has built sales momentum in the market and, last month, it registered sales of 190 units. Dodge Charger and Dodge Durango also showed positive numbers, both reported a 17 percent sales increase.
Last month, Dodge brand won Full-size Sedan of Texas (2016 Charger R/T Scat Pack), Performance Sedan of Texas (2016 Charger SRT Hellcat) and Super Car of Texas (2016 Viper GTC) from the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA).
FIAT
Fiat brand showed good sales results for May, resulting in 689 units, up 2 percent versus May 2015. Sales of the Fiat 500X and Fiat 500L continued to pick up pace as these vehicles continue to arrive in dealerships nationwide. Sales of the Fiat Uno reached 333 units, up 51 percent compared with May 2015; best May since its launch. Fiat Palio sales increased 100 percent compared to May 2015. Fiat Ducato sales were up 26 percent over May 2015.
Jeep
Jeep brand had high volume sales of 969 units for the month. Jeep Grand Cherokee sold 368 units while Jeep Wrangler reported sales of 224 units.
Last month, the 75th Anniversary of the Jeep brand was celebrated with one of the biggest events ever made for the brand, Camp Jeep 2016. More than 500 Jeep vehicles met in León, Guanajuato, to participate in different activities prepared to showcase all the capabilities of the vehicles.
Mitsubishi Motors
Last month, Mitsubishi Motors Mexico reported 1,209 units sold, an increase of 14 percent over May 2015; best May since 2009.
Mitsubishi Outlander continued its winning streak in sales reaching 193 units sold, up 38 percent over the same period last year.
Meanwhile, Mitsubishi L200 reported sales of 501 units; best May ever. Sales of the Mitsubishi Mirage were 401 units.
Ram
Ram brand achieved sales of 1,757 units, an increase of 3 percent compared to the same month last year; best May since 2009. Ram 700 continued as one of the top sellers of the brand, posting sales of 939 units. Ram ProMaster sales increased year-over-year by 24 percent.
The 2016 Ram 1500 was recognized as Best Family Pickup Truck by the Greater Atlanta Automotive Media Association (GAAMA).
