In late February 2016, Chery’s first batch of Arrizo 5 vehicles arrived in Chile known as the “country at the end of the world”. Bathing in the sunshine of South America, they were poised to be launched. As Chery’s global strategic model for 2016, Arrizo 5 will be launched officially in Latin America on March 10 as the first Chinese model launched simultaneously worldwide.
To-be-launched Arrizo 5 has four versions equipped with a 5MT/CVT transmission. The versions are powered by a 1.5DVVT naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power of 87kW and a maximum torque of 148Nm. The powertrain is meets the Euro V emission standard.
Early in the second half of 2015, the test vehicle of Arrizo 5 arrived in Santiago (capital of Chile) for local condition tests lasting a few of months. The results of the tests in city roads, mountains, deserts and other environments in Santiago and its neighboring cities show that Arrizo 5’s indicators have met the conditions for accessing the Latin American market. Arrizo 5 previously underwent an ice & snow test at a temperature of -40℃ in northeastern China, showing its outstanding comprehensive performance in the harsh environment. According to the source, on the occasion of the launch of Arrizo 5 in Chile, Chery will conduct a more rigorous test on Arrizo 5 in the Atacama Desert known as the “dry pole of the world”. Let’s look forward to its performance in the extremely dry environment.
Since entering Chile in 2007, Chery has become a Chinese auto brand with the largest market share in Chile by virtue of its outstanding product quality and local operation. In recent years, Tiggo 5 and Arrizo 7 have been nominated for the “Best Model of the Year in Chile” successively. In 2015, Tiggo 5, by virtue of the creative video advertisement, competed with renowned international brand “Coco-Cola” and won the Gold Effie Award known as the “Oscar of Marketing”. A series of honors show local consumers and media’s high recognition of Chery, and further enhance Chery’s local brand influence.
As one of Chery’s fastest-growing markets in Latin America, Chile was also the first station of the global launch tour of Arrizo 5. This not only further enriched Chery’s product line in Chile, but also boosted its comprehensive competitiveness in the local market. It is believed that Arrizo 5 will set off a sales fever in Latin America and even the world through its trendy appearance, rich configuration and tremendous technical strength. Now let’s look forward to the advent of March 10.
