Automotive Logistics Forum on 3 and 4 February in Frankfurt with Opel CEO Neumann, Schenker-Deutschland CEO Rodi and VDA President Wissmann
The “Forum Automobillogistik” (Automotive Logistics Forum) of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) and the German Logistics Association (BVL) entitled “Supply Chain 4.0 – stable, synchronous, scalable” is being held in Frankfurt am Main on 3 and 4 February 2016. The venue for the event is the Kongresshaus Kap Europa, Osloer Strasse 5, 60327 Frankfurt am Main. Among the speakers announced are Opel CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann, the Chairman of the Management Board of Schenker Deutschland, Dr. Hansjörg Rodi, and VDA President Matthias Wissmann. With over 500 participants expected, the Forum is Europe’s most important meeting of the automotive logistics industry.
In a wide range of lectures, presentations and discussions, logistics experts from manufacturers and suppliers in the automotive industry, business consultants and academics will be providing insights into best practices, their experiences and the latest findings. They will be addressing topics such as challenges facing automotive logistics providers within the context of globalization and their supply chains. On the first day of the Forum, the agenda will include digitization, data quality, new paths in transport logistics and challenges in the aftermarket. On the second day, the Forum will offer two sequences on the risks of global purchasing and on packaging issues in automotive logistics.
A plant tour will then offer insights into actual practice. Participants can choose between three hosts – the Opel plant in Russelsheim, the DB Schenker Rail European Operations Center and the Continental plant in Frankfurt-Rödelheim.
This year marks the fourth Automotive Logistics Forum organized jointly by VDA and BVL. As a platform for logistics and supply chain managers in industry, trade and the service sector, for academics and for students, it forms a bridge between business and research. The event is considered to be Europe’s leading forum for automotive logistics. The German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) has over 600 members from the sector. The German Logistics Association is a non-profit, neutral and largely voluntary organization.
