  • Over 12,000 participants in 2015
  • Future-oriented content prepares you to compete on the market
  • Demand-oriented program to be expanded again in 2016

Over 12,000 participants worldwide took part in the technical training of ZF Services on drivelines, chassis, and steering systems in 2015. Shorter model cycles as well as increasingly complex technology in new vehicle models are driving the increase in demand. In light of these trends, independent workshops in particular must be familiar with the growing number of systems from various manufacturers. With its constantly expanding range of training programs, ZF Services accepts this challenge in order to best prepare its partners for the market in 2016.

More and more thorough knowledge is necessary for the maintenance and repair of intelligent automatic transmissions, adaptive dampers, and vehicles with an electrified driveline. Individual workshops must also master the challenges brought by this technical progress. With a broad range of training programs, ZF Services supports its partners – both employees from independent passenger car and commercial vehicle workshops, and also retail dealers – on how to correctly deal with the driveline, chassis, and steering systems. The aftermarket specialist profits from the systems competence of the ZF technology company.

The training content is structured to make it informative and practice-oriented. Apparently a concept which is well received. “More than 12,000 participants took part in the program in 2015,” stated Dr. Ulrich Walz, member of the ZF Services Board of Directors. “Our training takes experience from daily workshop activities into account and does not just focus on the individual part, but on the respective application system: passenger car, truck, or bus.”

Specific training for ZF Services [pro]Tech partners

Training is also a central component of the ZF Services [pro]Tech workshop concept. Since it started out in 2012, [pro]Tech has already proved itself to over 5,000 partners in the D-A-CH markets.

The comprehensive training program of the workshop concept will be expanded in the areas of driveline and chassis in 2016. Using a BMW 528i, the participants will gain practical experience alongside theoretical basics: for example, which characteristics should be paid attention to in the ‘xDrive’ four-wheel drive model, how to troubleshoot with an 8HP transmission, and the structure and function of the CDC chassis. Calibrating a DSG clutch and the effects of faults in a gasoline direct injection engine on shifting performance top off the program.

Fit for the future: high-voltage training

The demand for training programs on high-voltage systems continues to rise, given that the number of hybrid vehicles has almost doubled since 2012, while the number of all-electric vehicles has even tripled in the same time. The three-hour high-voltage training module gives all participants an EuP certificate (certificate for persons instructed in electrical engineering). A pioneer in the field, ZF Services has already been offering modular training programs on HV systems for six years.

The aftermarket specialist also prepares itself and the industry for the networked future of mobility. The ‘Internet of Things’ will greatly change the automotive world and, with it, day-to-day work in the workshops. ZF Services also provides its partners with the necessary technical know-how.
