Volkswagen’s North America strategy faces another massive setback in the wake of the resignation of Winfried Vahland, the Chief Executive of Skoda who was due to relocate to the US to head up the new VW North America region. Appointed in the recent hastily organised corporate reshuffle to arguably the toughest portfolio in the Group, Vahland has since reconsidered the offer, and will leave the company entirely.
