Amidst C-suite upheaval and ratings cut, Aston Martin teases super-luxury Vulcan

Will Aston Martin's plans for a low-volume supercar limited to track driving exacerbate liquidity concerns?

In the midst of a wide-ranging C-suite upheaval, lower than expected sales in key markets and a downgrade of its corporate credit ratings, Aston Martin is pushing ahead with plans for a new low-volume supercar that will reportedly be limited to track driving and not road legal. In a teaser video revealing little more than growling engine noise, the British brand announced that a new model, called the Vulcan, will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Details of the model and the OEM's new strategy are expected to be outlined at the show, but at the moment some industry observers have begun to raise concerns.
