Ahead of its Autumn Statement which will be released next month, the UK government has announced a ‘roads revolution’ which sees it spending £15bn (US$23bn) in an overhaul of 100 of Britain’s busiest roads and motorways by the end of the decade.
The decision was announced on 10 November at the Confederation of British Industry’s (CBI) annual conference in London, by Prime Minister David Cameron, who noted that the move will see the Government embarking on the “biggest, boldest and most far-reaching road improvement programme” for 40 years.
