The currency crisis in Venezuela, which has led to a shortage of hard currency, continues to adversely affect the automotive manufacturing segment in the country. OEMs and suppliers are finding it increasingly difficult to import the parts they need for production. Major global vehicle manufacturers like General Motors, Ford and Toyota have all had to reduce production in Venezuela owing to the currency controls.
