GM to cease production in Australia

GM's decision to cease production in Australia leaves Toyota as the country's only vehicle manufacturer

After much speculation, and discussion between the Australian government and General Motors' Holden unit, not to mention denials and political drama, it is finally official: GM will cease its manufacturing operations in Australia, by 2017. The OEM has announced that it will "transition to a national sales company", both in Australia and in New Zealand.
