After much speculation, and discussion between the Australian government and General Motors' Holden unit, not to mention denials and political drama, it is finally official: GM will cease its manufacturing operations in Australia, by 2017. The OEM has announced that it will "transition to a national sales company", both in Australia and in New Zealand.
