Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is tapping Intel's expertise in its endeavour to develop new and innovative in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems, just the latest sign of an increasing convergence of the automotive industry with IT and consumer electronics (CE) specialists.
The OEM is setting up its first dedicated software R&D centre in Portland, Oregon, near to Intel and other IT specialists, to support IVI developments.
