US President Barack Obama has issued a Presidential Memorandum directing federal agencies to implement government-wide fleet management practices with the aim of achieving 100% alternative fuel government purchasing by 2015. In October 2009, the President signed Executive Order 13514, which directs agencies to cut petroleum consumption by 30% by 2020.
