To celebrate the official launch of Xpeng Australia and the opening of Xpeng Center Sydney, Xpeng and its exclusive importer, distributor and retailer TrueEV hosted a spectacular event on December 16th. Influencers, media, and Xpeng’s partners in Australia gathered together to witness the unveiling of a new era of electric mobility in Australia.

The launching event was officiated by motoring journalist media presenter, Elise Elliott, and commenced with a ribbon cutting and plaque ceremony, led by TrueEV CEO Jason Clarke, and James Wu, Vice President of Finance & Overseas Strategic Support Office, Xpeng and Alex Tang, Head of International Division of Sales and Service, Xpeng.

At the event, TrueEV shared an update on Xpeng’s brand expansion plans in Australia, including the announcement of new dealer partnerships and the plan to open new Xpeng centers.

“We just confirmed the dealer partnerships with Autopact, Australia’s second-largest dealer group headquartered in Queensland, and Jackson Motor Group, located in Tasmania, which will further increase Xpeng’s reach in Australia.” said Jason Clarke “And we are going to open three additional Xpeng centers by the end of 2024, including locations in Wollongong (New South Wales), Port Melbourne (Victoria), and North Coburg (Victoria). These Xpeng centers are part of a broader plan to expand the brand’s footprint across Australia, with 20 locations slated to open by the end of 2025. ”

“Australia is an uprising market for electric vehicles, as it opens to a faster transition to greener mobility. The country’s vast landscape and the eco-friendly living philosophy of Australians create tremendous demands for high-quality EVs, and Xpeng can provide the best in that sector.” said James Wu. “Not long ago, we launched our first model, Xpeng G6, an ultra-smart coupe SUV in Australia. Today, the opening of Xpeng Center Sydney symbolizes another footprint of Xpeng in this market. We look forward to a long and meaningful journey here in Australia.”

“These partnerships, alongside our own Xpeng centers, continue to bolster our presence and commitment to the Australian market in breaking down the barriers of EV ownership and accelerating the transition to clean and eco-friendly transportation.” said Jason Clarke, CEO of TrueEV. “Together, we are not just selling cars; we are creating a future where sustainability and cutting-edge technology go hand in hand, empowering more Australians to make the switch to cleaner, greener driving.”
