- The Tangiers plant recently built its 200,000th vehicle, a Dacia Dokker.
- Dokker, and its LCV version Dokker Van, are a major force in the drive to win new customers.
- Dokker has been widely praised by customers, and has also received awards from business users.
The Renault-Nissan plant in Tangiers held an internal ceremony on Wednesday April, 16 2014, to celebrate the production of the 200,000th vehicle built since the plant came on line in February 2012. The vehicle is a Dacia Dokker for a Moroccan customer.
More than 70,000 Dacia Dokker vehicles have been built since production started in Tangiers. A significant part of output has been exported, mainly to Spain (12,977 vehicles), France (12,727 vehicles) and Turkey (11,663 vehicles).
Dacia Dokker is also a great success in Morocco, with more than 15,500 units sold on the local market.
This result can be attributed to the policy of continuous improvement conducted by the plant, both in its processes and in the management of its workforce. For example, average output has risen to 600 vehicles/day (results for April 2014) including 213 Dokker vehicles/day on average. This latest step reflects the important role played by the Renault-Nissan Tangiers plant in Group exports, and its active efforts to become a major hub in international sales.
The Dacia Dokker leisure-activity vehicle and its van version have attracted new customers both in Morocco and in international markets. Today, the Dokker range is marketed in more than 54 countries.
Built only on the production line of the Renault-Nissan plant in Tangiers, Dacia Dokker includes a number of new features, including the “Dacia Easy Seat” (removable passenger seat on the LCV version) and “MédiaNav” (onboard navigation system at a particularly competitive price).
Dacia Dokker has also received awards from LCV business users. In Bulgaria, it was named “Van of the Year” by the Automobile Club, and in Turkey, “Fastest Growing Light Commercial Vehicle Brand” by the Association of Vehicle Distributors.
