Groupe Renault announces senior management appointments for Alpine.

As of March 1st 2016, Michael van der Sande, SVP, Global Marketing, is appointed Managing Director of Alpine. He reports directly to Thierry Koskas, EVP, Sales and Marketing.

As of March 1st 2016, Bernard Ollivier, who had led the Alpine project so far, is appointed Deputy Managing Director of Alpine. He reports directly to Michael van der Sande.

Bernard Ollivier and all his current team will join Sales and Marketing Department of Groupe Renault.

Born in the Netherlands on June, 30th, 1965, Michael van der Sande has a MBA from Nyenrode University. Michael has a passion for cars and knew from an early age that he wanted to work in the automotive industry. In the past twenty-five years Michael has held senior positions in several premium automotive manufacturers, including European Marketing Manager at Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars, Managing Director at Harley-Davidson Europe, Senior Vice President Sales, Marketing and Service at Tesla Motors, and most recently Chief Commercial Officer at Aston Martin Lagonda Limited. Michael joined Groupe Renault in 2013 as Senior Vice President – Global Marketing. He is a member of the Renault Management Committee. He has overseen the successful launch of many new Renault models worldwide, in addition to launching the ‘Passion for Life’ Renault brand identity and helping secure Renault’s return to Formula 1. On March 1st, 2016, he is appointed Managing Director of Alpine.

Born on March, 11th, 1952 and a graduate of École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris in 1975, Bernard Ollivier joined Renault in 1977. He occupied a number of positions in planning, finance and management before being appointed corporate controller and head of planning at Renault’s Sales and Marketing department in 1992. He subsequently became After-sales Director at Renault and Managing Director of Sodicam. He took over as head of the CAT group (logistics) in January 2000. He was appointed General Manager of Renault Sport Technologies in July 2001 and head of Group Engineering facilities in France, particularly Guyancourt, from April 2nd, 2007. He became VP, Transformation at Renault in January 2011. In November 2012, he became CEO of Société des Automobiles Alpine. On March 1st, 2016, he is appointed Deputy Managing Director of Alpine.
