Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export figures for January 2017.
1. Production
January
Nissan’s global production in January increased 5.7 percent year-on-year to 462,056 units, the twelfth consecutive month of increase and a record for the month of January.
Production in Japan increased 48.1 percent year-on-year to 96,909 units, the sixth consecutive month of increase.
Production outside Japan decreased 1.8 percent year-on-year to 365,147 units.
In the U.S., production decreased 9.1 percent year-on-year to 74,455 units.
In Mexico, production decreased 6.1 percent year-on-year to 67,110 units.
In the U.K., production increased 8.4 percent year-on-year to 43,051 units.
In Spain, production decreased 10.0 percent year-on-year to 8,193 units.
In China, production decreased 0.3 percent year-on-year to 106,415 units.
Production in other regions increased 5.2 percent year-on-year to 65,923 units.
2. Sales
January
Global sales increased 0.8 percent year-on-year to 449,780 units, the sixth consecutive month of increase and a record for the month of January.
Japan:
Sales including mini-vehicles increased 10.6 percent year-on-year to 55,838 units, the third consecutive month of increase.
- Vehicle registrations increased 30.0 percent year-on-year to 42,023 units.
- Mini-vehicle sales decreased 24.0 percent year-on-year to 13,815 units.
Sales outside Japan decreased 0.4 percent year-on-year to 393,942 units.
In the U.S., sales increased 6.2 percent year-on-year to 112,319 units, a record for the month of January.
In Mexico, sales decreased 5.5 percent year-on-year to 29,022 units.
In Europe, sales increased 13.6 percent year-on-year to 59,821 units.
In China, sales decreased 6.2 percent year-on-year to 119,411 units.
3. Exports from Japan
January
Exports in January increased 53.4 percent year-on-year to 50,862 units, the ninth consecutive month of increase.
