Mazda Motor Corporation has announced the following organizational and personnel changes, effective April 1, 2015.

1. Organizational Changes

Changes in the area of research and development

Aims

  • Consolidate the functions of advanced development of electronic control systems and optimizing integrated vehicle control systems into the newly established Integrated Control System Development Division in order to enhance development efficiency.
  • As electric drive technologies are put into practical use, integrate the function of electric drive system development, hitherto carried out by the Electric Drive System Development Office, and the function of engine-based drive system development, hitherto carried out by Powertrain Development Division, and achieve enhanced R&D efficiency.

Details of the organizational changes

  • The status of the Vehicle System Development Department is changed from a department to a division, and the division name is changed to Integrated Control System Development Division. The functions of advanced development of electronic control systems and optimizing integrated vehicle control systems, hitherto carried out by various departments in R&D are consolidated to the new division.
  • The PT Control System Development Department and Electric Drive & PT Control Parts Development Department are newly established in the Powertrain Development Division.
  • The Electric Drive System Development Office is eliminated, and its functions have been divided and consolidated to the Integrated Control System Development Division and departments within the Powertrain Development Division.
  • The Powertrain System Development Department is eliminated, and its functions have been divided and consolidated to the Integrated Control System Development Division, PT Control System Development Department and Electric Drive & PT Control Parts Development Department.
