Magna International Inc. announced that a Magna Powertrain manufacturing division in Sterling Heights, Michigan, received a JATCO Global Best Performance Award for quality, cost and delivery improvement through well-organized MZK (monozukuri) activities for its continuous variable transmission plunger and cylinder products supplied to JATCO.

JATCO is honoring companies that helped the Japanese transmission supplier provide fuel-efficient automatic and continuously variable transmission systems to its global customers. JATCO presented the award to Magna Powertrain at a ceremony in Yokohama, Japan.
Magna Powertrain’s Sterling Heights facility employees approximately 230 people and manufactures innovative automatic transmission and CVT parts, clutch apply rings and reluctor wheels, transmission oil pans, differential covers, drive plates, and deep draw reaction shells.
