In the first half of 2021, 200,219 LADA passenger cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in Russia, which is 51% more than in the first half of 2020

In the first half of 2021, 200,219 LADA passenger cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in Russia, which is 51% more than in the first half of 2020. The market share of LADA was 23% (+2.1 p.p. by the 1st half of 2020), which is the best result over the past 10 years.

Including 72,287 LADA Granta (+ 42.8% to the first half of 2020), 57,031 LADA Vesta (+ 17.4% to the first half of 2020), 26,702 LADA Largus (+ 38.7% to 2020) and 30 317 cars of the Niva family (+ 55.4% compared to the first half of 2020, taking into account Niva cars produced by OJSC “LADA West Togliatti”).

More than 25% of the total volume of LADA sales fell on corporate sales. In the first half of 2021, corporate clients purchased 50,549 LADA of all models (including special modifications produced by PSA VIS-AUTO JSC and LADA Sport LLC), which is 49% higher than a year earlier and 31% higher than in the first 6 months of 2019.

LADA Granta became the bestseller among corporate sales: in the first half of the year, 13,882 vehicles were sold (+ 34% compared to the same period in 2020). The second place is taken by LADA Largus with the result of 13 554 vehicles (+ 48%). 10,332 (+ 46%) LADA Vesta cars were sold, including 984 dual-fuel LADA Vesta CNG vehicles. The result of sales of the Niva family is 10 843 vehicles (+ 66%, including Niva cars produced by OJSC LADA Zapad Togliatti).

“The overall growth in car sales in the Russian market in the first half of the year is 37% compared to the first half of 2020. For the remainder of the year, sales will be highly dependent on supply capabilities due to the current global shortage of electronic components. We also see some uncertainty about consumer demand in Q4, in which we would welcome renewed government support measures. In general, we believe that the results of the year may be even higher than the projected growth of 10% relative to 2020 – the market may exceed 1.8 million vehicles, ”said Nicolas Maure, President of AVTOVAZ JSC.
