Two additional executive board positions // New dedicated board position for China // Board expansion in line with growth and internationalization strategy
HELLA Group, a globally leading automotive supplier is broadening its leadership capabilities by adding two boardroom positions. HELLA’s boardroom expansion comes after the company has successfully implemented its growth and internationalization strategy over the past years:
Effective from 1 January 2014, Joerg Buchheim (46), who has already overseen the high-growth Chinese market over the past years as President & CEO China, will join the management board of HELLA KGaA Hueck & Co. as an additional member. With this move, HELLA is creating a dedicated boardroom position for the important Asia and China region. HELLA is now operating ten manufacturing, production and administration facilities with over 4 500 employees in China. Joerg Buchheim has already held various positions in HELLA’s Chinese operations since 2006. The electrical engineer, who joined HELLA in 2001 in a distribution role, was made President & CEO China in 2012.
The appointment of Markus Bannert (40) as a member of the HELLA KGaA Hueck & Co. board effective from 1 January 2014 is further strengthening the lighting division, one of the company’s core businesses. Markus Bannert began his professional career in 1994 at HELLA after graduating in business administration. After holding various leadership positions in finance and controlling, he assumed responsibility for the flagship lighting site in Lippstadt in 2010 and has been a member of the divisional board of the lighting division since 2013. In addition to his previous roles, he will now drive the global development of the lighting division as its vice-CEO from 1 January 2014.
The appointment of Joerg Buchheim and Markus Bannert expands the HELLA Geschaeftsfuehrungsgesellschaft mbH board under CEO Dr Rolf Breidenbach to seven members who manage HELLA KGaA Hueck & Co. together with Managing General Partner Dr Juergen Behrend. With this move, HELLA creates the necessary prerequisites to further advance the globalization of the company and its existing growth and investment strategy.
