The meeting with participation of government representatives of the Russian Federation and Samara region, AVTOVAZ’ managers and experts, AVTOVZ’ suppler company managers was held at AVTOVAZ. Subject of the meeting was improvement of cooperation efficiency between AVTOVAZ and suppliers.
President of JSC AVTOVAZ Bo Andersson said: “Our priority is to buy from the Russian suppliers: they are located rather closer, we buy in roubles and must not to transfer our cargos through the customs.”
Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of President of the Russian Federation in Volga Federal District, Oleg Mshkovtsev said: “AVTOVAZ become closer to the suppliers. The “Champion Program” is implemented at VTOVAZ: each manufacturer has an assigned person who works directly with the company-supplier’s director panel. This contributes to improvement of communications and formation of long-run relationships with automotive component manufacturer”.
Bo Andersson said: “We are very thankful to the Russian government for their support. The year 2014 is very difficult for all automakers. In Russia we have 709 suppliers and now 81% of our buying is the product of Russian companies. Most of them are working very well but we faced problems with 11 suppliers. We have to reduce our production plan. The important thing for us is to complete the incomplete vehicles and deliver them to dealers, to fill the “spare part tube” and restart the production. The good news: within the recent month we produced more than 1000 vehicles of Renault, Nissan and LADA Largus a day. On the other lines we have marked improvements over the last three days. We have got a clear scheme how to resolve all the issues within the following two weeks. I am sure that within the next two weeks we’ll go back to the normal situation”.
