Audi of America has appointed communications executive Ellen Carey as Senior Manager, Innovation and Corporate Communications, effective immediately.
In her new position, Carey will be responsible for promoting Audi leadership in rapidly advancing technology fields such as automated driving, electric vehicles, connected cars and lighting. She also manages the areas of corporate communications and internal and dealer communications.
Carey previously served as Vice President, Communications at Securing America’s Future Energy (SAFE), where she was responsible for communications and outreach efforts in support of SAFE’s mission to accelerate the deployment of electric and autonomous vehicles. Carey led the organization’s strategic broadcast media partnerships and worked closely with SAFE’s leadership, four-star generals and admirals and Fortune 500 CEOs, to secure and prepare them for interviews and prominent speaking opportunities.
“Ellen brings experience and knowledge in the vital areas of piloted driving and electric vehicles, along with the skills of a savvy communications professional,” Ward said. “She joins the team during a period of great opportunity, given that Audi is at the forefront in creating new technologies that are reshaping the industry.”
Prior to SAFE, Carey led earned media efforts for the American Wind Energy Association. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with minors in Spanish and Communications at Villanova University. She is a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
