Bridgestone announced today that its CEO and Representative Board Member Concurrently Chairman of the Board Masaaki Tsuya has been appointed as Honorary Investment Advisor to the Thailand Board of Investment (hereinafter BOI) in November. The Honorary Investment Advisor position was established with the purpose of assisting the BOI in promoting Thailand as an attractive investment destination both in the Southeast Asian region and in the world.
Masaaki Tsuya gave the following speech after receiving the certificate of appointment from Dr. Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand.
“I am very honored and privileged to be appointed as Honorary Investment Advisor of the BOI. Bridgestone has been doing business in Thailand for around half a century. Our business in Thailand now spans across a wide range of areas, from R&D, testing, manufacturing, sales & marketing and equipment of tires, to the sales & marketing of diversified products and raw materials. Taking this opportunity, on behalf of Bridgestone, I would like to express our wholehearted appreciation to all our stakeholders in Thailand, including, but not limited to, government officers, community members, various business partners, end-users, suppliers, employees, and friends. With the help and support of all these people, we would like to continue to improve the prosperity of our operations in Thailand.”
Bridgestone has been moving forward with business expansion in Thailand for nearly half a century. The Company has been recognized for contributing to the development of Thailand from an economic and industrial perspective, and these contributions are believed to have led to the Company’s CEO receiving such a prestigious appointment.
