New legislation introduced by two US senators regarding the 5.9GHz band has revived concerns from automotive industry players on the future of connected vehicle technology. Senators Marco Rubio and Cory Booker have proposed legislation known as the 'Wi-Fi Innovation Act', which calls for specific deadlines to be set on the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) plans to open part of the 5.9GHz band for unlicensed devices.
